Bat Profiles

Our Most Popular Bat Shapes

Laver & Wood can make bats to almost any shape you like. We can copy your old favourite, or come up with a slightly different shape that you think will suit your game.

By hand making our bats we are able to alter the profile, including having a high, medium or low sweetspot, changing the edges, and scalloping out the back of the blade. We can make traditional bats or modern ones, and we can copy your old favourite.

Below is a selection of profiles. These should be used as a guide only. We can alter these to suit your requirements. Please email us with your request to see if we can make your bat.

The Special Profile

  • The most popular L&W shape. This profile is all about awesome weight distribution which allows for incredible bat-speed as well as a huge, powerful hitting zone. This much loved shape is ideal for all-round players who want power on the front and back foot.

  • The Special Profile can be made in any of our bat Grades. This example weighs 2lbs12ozs and the shape can be scaled to match weights from 2ls7ozs upwards.

The Classic Profile

  • The long-standing, traditional shape. This profile benefits from a long, high spine which allows for a very large hitting zone. This time-honoured shape is ideal for touch players who love to place the ball through the gaps in the field.

  • The Classic Profile can be made in any of our bat Grades. This example weighs 2lbs10ozs and the shape can be scaled to match weights from 2ls7ozs upwards.

The Ultra Profile

  • The huge, modern shape. This physically imposing profile is ideal for big hitters who want maximum wood in their hitting zone. The huge edges and flat face are ideal for aggressive players looking to clear the boundary with ease. Why not combine this profile with the L&W CarboCane handle?
  • The Ultra Profile is used in our Resurve Ultra and Special Reserve Ultra bat Grades. This example weighs 2lbs11ozs and the shape can be scaled to match weights from 2ls8ozs upwards.

The Bowed Profile

  • The sub-continental shape. This shape couples nice, thick edges with a low sweet spot and creates a bat with nice balance and impressive feel. The curve to the blade may slightly decrease the size of the sweet spot but assists with aerial hitting.

  • The Bowed Profile as below is classed as a mid - low and extended sweet spot. This example weighs 2lbs12ozs and the shape can be scaled to match weights from 2ls7ozs upwards.
